iOS 6: Is it time for Apple to revamp the Home screen?

At Macworld 2007 Steve Jobs pulled the original iPhone from his pocket, held it up high above the stage, and showed off the app launcher-based Home screen... that's pretty much remained the same ever since. That's not entirely true, of course. Apple quickly added the ability to create WebClip icons for websites, and to re-arrange and delete them. With iOS 2 (iPhone OS 2) they added native apps to that mix. They increased the number of Home pages. They added Spotlight. They added wallpaper. With iOS 4 they layered in the multitasking fast app switcher. They layered in folders. The iPad, and the iPad alone, got landscape Home screen support. With iOS 5 they layered in Notification Center and Siri. Is it time for something more?

Mozilla plans war on fragmentation, reveals unified UI design for Windows 8 and mobile devices

Image

Mozilla has shown off ideas for future versions of Firefox as it becomes less of a traditional browser and more of a "soft, friendly, human" ecosystem. Slides released on the web hint at a new desktop environ with a simplified menu, cleaner download interface, and a more functional startpage -- all the while maintaining the same curved-edge look as the mobile variant. A Windows 8 Metro tile-based version is also in the works that's similar to the Firefox tab layout on Android. There's no word when Mozilla's so-called Kilimanjaro project will come to fruition, but you can check out the slideshow after the break for an early glimpse.

Kate Upton Bikini Photos: You. Are. Welcome.

Terry Richardson needs free drinks for life.

Who knows how the renowned "fashion" photographer became the go-to guy for getting models and actresses to disrobe in front of him for "artsy" spreads, but the man does profoundly exquisite work. His latest effort: These Kate Upton pics.

What more needs to be said, really?

Kate Upton Bikini Picture

This photo shoot also produced a video of her doing the "Cat Daddy" dance in the bikini shown above, a 60-second clip that's as perfect as it is nonsensical.

Some people, for reasons unknown, continue to hate on Kate because of her "fuller" figure and provocative ad campaigns, but we really don't see the issue.

If anything, it's nice to see a non-anorexic "every girl" model, and just because the SI stunner uses her sex appeal for a living doesn't make her a "slut."

Rant over. Now enjoy Terry's photos of the cutie below:

'Twilight' A Best Kiss Four-Peat At MTV Movie Awards?

Twilight Tuesday predicts Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will continue to rule category with their 'Breaking Dawn - Part 1' smooch.

Can you believe it's already movie awards season again? We're talking about the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, of course — one of our favorite times of the year.

The official nominees list is out and full of fun new additions in category, performance and movie form. As in the past three years, "Twilight" is nominated in two areas that the fan-favorite franchise has dominated: Best Kiss and Best Movie.

This week's Twilight Tuesday is all about analyzing what will go down live on the awards show Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, particularly with the history of "Twilight" and the Best Kiss category, which three-time winners Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will likely continue to rule with their "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" smooch.

Their competitors this year are actually pretty fierce: Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone ("Crazy, Stupid, Love."), Rupert Grint and Emma Watson ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"), Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson ("The Hunger Games"), and Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum ("The Vow").

Stiff competition or not, because Stewart and Pattinson have such a seriously dedicated fanbase and a great track record with both their Movie Awards appearances and award acceptances, we're betting the odds are in their favor. It all started back in 2009, when Stewart and Pattinson took home the golden popcorn for their first onscreen kiss as beloved characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. It was all about the art of the tease back then, as the two stars didn't actually kiss during their acceptance.

In 2010, they came back ready to play and treated fans to a wisp of a kiss after their win. Then, last year, Pattinson brought the house down when he stormed into the audience to plant a wet one on co-star Taylor Lautner.

We're not ones to count chickens before they hatch, but what might Stewart and Pattinson do this year if they win? Kiss other co-stars? Kiss each other and all of the Cullen family in attendance?

Head over to MovieAwards.MTV.com to vote for your favorite flicks now! The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 3, at 9 p.m. ET.

T-Mobile Prism leaked: entry-level Huawei smartphone to launch in May

While the design (and even the briefing slides) scream affordable, we're sure there must be some Big Magenta customers aching for a keenly-priced smartphone fix. So here's the Prism. Huawei's behind that T-Mobile face, cooking up a Android Gingerbread phone with a pretty weedy 600MHz processor and a 3.5-inch (480 x 320) touchscreen. A fixed-focus (yeah) 3.2-megapixel camera pokes out the back, while a microSD slot means you can extend space for those vaguely-almost-in-focus shots -- the Prism arrives with a 2GB card already onboard. The phone looks set for a May 6th release date and TmoNews has several more slides with some extra launch details -- you can check them out at the source below.
